Manuel GarcĂa, GarcĂa Forestal and Renova GeneraciĂłn de EnergĂas RenovablesÂ´s CEO , has been elected, for second time , as president of the Biomass section of APPA for four more years.
During this term, the main objectives of the associationÂ´s board of directors is to propose the Ministry a new energy reform allowing the sector development to reach the established objectives up to year 2020.
Regarding the Biomass section this challenge is even more important due to the short development it had during the PER (previous Renewables Energy Plan, due to the high complexity of this technology, as for application procedures and management refers to, in comparison with others. The section foresees that Spain will experience a strong biomass-based power and heating energy development for the period 2013-2020.
Manuel GarcĂa is also member of the APPA main sectionÂ´s Board of Directors, president of AGAVEB (Galician Association of Biomass Energy Valorization) and member of the CEOEÂ´s energy committee (Spanish Business Confederation).

The Association of Renewables Energy Producers, gathers more than 500 companies operating in the renewables energy sector.
APPA, founded in 1987, is the only association nationwide at this sector, representing members from all regions in Spain. APP is made up of firms from biofuel, biomass, wind, photovoltaic, high and low- energy geothermical, hidraulic, marine, small-scale wind and sunpower thermoelectric sectors.
APPA aims to contribute to build up favourable conditions for the renewables-based energy acting on all these fields:

Also, deserves mention, among a number of different business management activities carried out, the relevant role played by APPA on the Real Decreto 2366/1994 (Royal Decree) elaboration regarding the power production with renewables sources, trying hard to improve the renewables position related to the preceding legislation to that Decree.

â€˘ Negotiates advantageous conditions for its associate members, like Civil Liability inssurance brokearage, all risk insurances, production loss or machinery misfunctioning, and so on.
APPA belongs to a variety of different associations to fight its interests in Europe: AEBIOM (European Biomass Association), EBB (European Biodiesel Board), EGEC (European Geothermal Energy Council), EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association), EREF (European Renewable Energies Federation), ESHA (European Small Hydropower Association), EUFORES (European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources), EU-OEA (European Ocean Energy Association), EWEA (European Wind Energy Association) y GIA (Geothermal Implementing Agreement). Also carries out epresenting activities in front of european institutions and parlament.
APPA is member of the Power Consultative Committee at the National Energy Commission, and also is part of Spanish Power Market Agents Committee, EREN and some other organizations.
